L’Apéro is the evening extension of L’Appartement 4F—a cozy Brooklyn bakery by day and intimate French wine bar by night. Rooted in community and inspired by the warm, casual dinner parties Ashley and Gautier Coiffard once hosted in their apartment, L’Apéro brings people together over thoughtfully curated natural and biodynamic French wines, artisanal breads, cheeses, and entrees.

We’re looking for a H ead Chef to lead the front-of-house operations at L’Apéro. You’ll be responsible for developing our seasonally changing menu of French-American cuisine, mentoring, training, and managing a team of 4 cooks and porters, costing menu items and overseeing COGS, the prep list and every element of the food from sourcing to the finished dish landing on the table.

Responsibilities include:

• On the floor to oversee nightly operations and managing the back-of-house team.
• Leading with warmth, professionalism, and a strong presence in the kitchen.
• Always be a mentor and constantly passing on your knowledge to cooks.
• Guiding front of house and back of house through menu changes, new ingredient education, and how to speak about our farmers and purveyors.
• Collaborating on menu development alongside our Kitchen Manager.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization according to DOH protocols across two kitchens.
• Training and scheduling staff along with payroll management.
• Handling ordering and inventory for ingredients and dry goods alongside the kitchen manager.
• Working closely with ownership and the team to ensure fluid communication and a seamless experience.
• Working closely with our events team to facilitate successful private dinner and cocktail events, and brunches.
